Change Your Mind … Change Your Body
I have had clients that are interested in losing or managing their weight. Some have only a few pounds to loose and others have a great deal of weight to shed. It is truly an individual process, and one that needs to be addressed as an individual issue. Some have done quite well, while others loose interest, do not use new skills, lack patience, or were not ready to begin the inner journey in the first place.
The effectiveness of relaxation, visualization, and patience with oneself is real. The freedom in letting go and letting the mind and body work together is wonderful. I have used these skills successfully and know you can enjoy the same success.
I do not represent, nor do I receive any compensation from any endorsement I make here. I am only sharing with you, what I myself have used successfully, and instruct my clients to do if they so choose. I am not a medical doctor, a nutritionist, or physiologist. So feel free to consult as many people as you want to in order to make a healthy decision.
When I first decided to select a program, I followed the Hilton Head Metabolism Diet by Dr. Peter Miller. If you are more comfortable following a set dietary schedule, I would recommend this program. It is easy to follow and I was never hungry, once my body adjusted to the diet. In one year I successfully shed more than 115lbs.. I was successful in keeping the weight off for a couple years until I underwent three back to back prednisone treatments for a respiratory problem. Dr. Miller's book can be found in bookstores and amazon.com
I am sorry to have to disagree with medical personnel, but I know for a fact that it is more than just keeping one's mouth closed and not eating, as one doctor suggested. Every time I have needed that medication, I can count on a 25-35lb wt gain. So I understand your frustrations and setbacks. This is one more reason why it is important to consult with your doctor and have a plan in order to address medical concerns.
While listening to the radio one evening, I discovered the Gabriel Method. He was saying what I knew to be true, and I liked what I heard. I was interested in his approached and after purchasing his book, I was hooked. I love it! I am able to modify it and still be successful following Jon’s method, and I feel comfortable instructing my clients to do the same. Read his book, identify the problem, work on the problem and success is yours. His website is gabrielmethod.com .
The exercise method I followed was and still is Gilad's Bodies in Motion. I found it challenging all along the way and it helped tone and shape my body. His website is: bodiesinmotionwithgilad.com
My services will help with any therapy, enhancement of visualization, and strengthening of skills that you may need along the way. The mind is so powerful and beautiful, and as soon as the mind and body are ready to work together, there is no stopping you from reaching your goal.
If you are interested in more information about the program here at my office please feel free to give me a call at (816) 436-2630 to set up an appointment.
Before you start this program talk with your health care provider and let them know what you are planning. Get input from them about any limitations or health concerns for which you need to be aware.
When exercising ALWAYS listen to you body. Know when too much is too much, and when you need to do a little more. Your mind and body know exactly what to do to bring you to your healthy self.
